Nikki and Lindsay are enjoying their new wraps, a Christmas gift from Great Grandma Ann in Montana! Oh and on the last day of this year instead of snow blowing, we decided to take a bike ride in the 72 degree weather! We do miss the snow..well at least the girls do. We are going to celebrate the arrival of the new year at Grandma & Grandpa Johnson's this evening. Ya...you betchaa....(that's Norwegian). I hear there is a great Mexican train domino game scheduled!

Dad's favorite pie is: Yes, HUCKLEBERRY PIE! These are fresh picked huckleberries from Chewelah, WA. Okay they are frozen and picked in July but they still taste fresh to me. Grandma Johnson cooked her famous pie for our family today!
Lindsay had fun putting together her "Barbie" puzzle while Nikki did some investigative reading on how to accurately sketch model's.

Christmas 2008 in a RV!!

Santa Claus and his helpers did manage to find our 5th wheel late last night. Kelly woke me up when she heard a "rattle" coming from the roof and I assurred her it was the loose mounting bracket for our antenna. Little did I know Santa made a quick stop and dropped off some presents! Yes that is a 6 foot Christmas tree..well at least a half of a 6 foot Christmas tree. A very good design to sit flat up against the wall and we still had plenty of room for presents and Santa's milk & cookies.

Nikki at the golf course!

Nikki celebrated her 10th birthday today! She tested out her new golf clubs today at the Foothill's Golf Course. Even though she had a stiff breeze in her face, Nikki did a great job with those funny colored range balls. We were able to get her a new set of clubs as she has quickly grown out of the "jr" set we got her 3 years ago. I have now taken a more proactive interest in golfing and plan on chasing that little white ball around for at least the next 30 years!

Nikki's Birthday at Chuck E Cheese

Our Daugher Kerri and her husband Jay visited with us here in Yuma. We decided to celebrate Nikki's (10th) birthday while they were here so we went to the local Chuck E Cheese. Grandpa and Grandma Johnson joined in the fun as well!

Yuma Arizona

We all arrived here in sunny Yuma Arizona on the 2nd of December. The weather has been great so far and only a few days of wind and one full day of rain. The weather all over the US has been unusual this year, including here. We all have been so busy visiting family and finishing up the Christmas shopping that I've gotten behind a little on our blog..more updates soon.

Kelly, Jay, Kerri & Nikki are in much in thought during a "Scattergories" championship game.Kerri and Jay donated several Disney Park Hopper passes to our family, which was a great Christmas present! Jay has worked at Disneyland for over 6 years now and Kerri at Airflight in Long Beach.
Nikki, Kerri and Lindsay taking a break before dinner. Hey, when is Lindsay's front tooth going to come in????

Grandma Sandy hard at work in her gourmet kitchen! She enjoys cooking and is a Wonderful Cook! I can't wait again for another visit!!

Dad and I watching the Seahawks loose again....we both celebrated with a glass of red wine for our hearts!

All the Fenn girls at the home of Dave's Sister, Liz. Kimmy, far right, surprised the family and flew down from rainy Gig Harbor for the baby shower.
This must be some girl thing..blindfolding Kerri as my Grandson (Landon, who is still cooking) and Kristin looks on.

Kimmy and Jennifer Anderson (extended Fenn family from California) and classmate of Dave from Brethren High School. This writer chose not to list the year we graduated. Dave couldn't make it for the baby shower as he had a Navy drill in Spokane. He did not enjoy the 22 degree mornings!
More photos to follow!!

On November 11th, my Dad and Nephew Evan, attended a "High Twelve" lunch meeting. Dad was the outgoing president and received a very nice plaque. If you would like to know more about "High Twelve", you can visit this website: www.high12.org.
I couldn't miss the opportunity to get a photo with my nephew, Evan Sue. He is a Tenderfoot Scout and has completed most of his requirements for Second Class. I was fortunate to become an Eagle Scout with Long Beach Area Council Troop 212 in 1971 and will be looking forward to going to Evan's Eagle Court of Honor one of these days. He along with many other scouts from his troop, got up early this morning and put out hundreds of flags on veterans graves. We need to always remember the sacrifices of our veterans!

Lindsay works her magic as she walks across a "tightrope" in Wii Fitness. I think I might have to ask for this game for Christmas.
Nikki and Ashley are deep in thought as they compete on a hot new "Wii" game. Ashley beat me twice so I had to give my steering wheel over to Nikki who did much better!

This afternoon our girls visited their Cousins Ashley and Evan at their home in Cerritos California. It is so nice to be closer so they can spend time together.

Grandpa Fenn and Lindsay enjoy some good conservation and, of course dessert (vanilla ice cream, fresh strawberries and raspberries and of course, low calorie chocolate syrup).
Grandma Sandy is an accomplished artist and helped Nikki with her sketching.

Sunset in Seal Beach after another warm day. This sure beats Camp Shelby Mississippi!

We stopped by and played a round of golf with the girls just off the 405 freeway today. Both did great and it must be from the expert golf advice from Grandpa Johnson! Although at the 12th hole, the ground ate Lindsay's ball and it was never seen again.
We stopped for a couple of hours at the pier in Seal Beach. The weather was in the mid 80's and abit windy, but the girls didn't mind the surf at all. We are all enjoying Southern California!

Sunday, November 2, 2008

We arrived today at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach. The RV park is very large, the sites are huge and the laundry is free! My life has changed now from crime scene management to finding the best deals on washing and drying the laundry. We will be staying here for a month and this will give us time to visit with our family, (my sister Liz and her family, my daughter Kerri and her husband and my Dad Sam and stepmom Sandy).

The weather has been great and in the 80's. Back at home (Gig Harbor) it has been getting cooler and wetter as usual. Of course, we will have to make a trip to the Long Beach Aquarium, a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway and an early Christmas present (2 day park hopper pass to Disneyland).

Halloween at Pt Mugu

Wow, Halloween at Pt Mugu! This is the first time in our 28 years of marriage that we took the kids out in 67 degree weather! No coats, mittens, hair wraps or snow boots! We all like this warm weather and can't wait until December in Arizona. We shopped for candy for 2 hours and the girls also inadvertantly went into a "make shift haunted house", accompainied by Dad of course who quickly used his Boy Scout tracking skills to get them out of the house without injury. They both filled their halloween bags and had to count each piece when we got back home.
