Rkansaw and Missure

On Wednesday we travelled to Branson, MO via Rkansas. The roads here are completely different than those in Tennessee and you can see for miles! Since we are going to win a new home near Biloxi, MS (St Jude Children's Hospital) we did drive by the hospital while leaving Memphis. We have purchased 2 tickets to win a 3000+ sg foot house. The garage just won't do so we might have to sell the house and get another one that is at least 2 car size with RV parking, cable TV, 100 gal air compressor, 8' workbench, vehicle lift, floor drain and a 1956 Ford PU, custom cab, baby blue...all original...

The girls enjoyed real BBG and Catfish at my favorite spot on Beale St. The cops shot a bad guy the following day at 4th and Beale so we missed the crime scene tape. I do carry extra crime scene tape and chalk just in case I can help out! The Peabody Hotel was a neat visit as well and we all got to see the ducks march down the red carpet at 1700. Go to their website for a quick tour!

Memphis Zoo

While in Memphis, we had to visit the zoo. Unfortunately for us, so did everyone else in Tennessee as well. Tuesday was "free day" for all Tenessee residents so it was very busy but very rewarding. It rained hard in the morning so we decided to go over to the National Civil Rights Museum, but Tuesdays must be important in Memphis because they were "closed" on Tuesdays.

Hurricane Mills, TN

Illegal aliens have an easier time getting into California than we did trying to leave Pigeon Forge! It took us 1hr 20 min to drive 9 miles to the freeway. I was ready for lunch by the time we did get to I40, but after that everything was smooth sailing. We spent most of the day driving up and down tree covered hills and enjoyed the cooler weather. Our cat Bella, is somewhat confused because every time she looks out the window of the trailer she gets a different view. Her surface search radar has locked onto a small chipmunk but due to the window, she can't attack. We are off today for a short drive to the Memphis area where we will spend 2 days touring. See you soon!

Dollywood 2012

What a great day at Dollywood! Fast roller coasters and a simply beautiful park set in the Smokey  Mountains. I wish we could stay longer or at least live here for awhile. We could have purchased a season pass for $32 each after paying for a 1 day admission. We did have a very nice lady give us 2 adult admission passes with a food voucher while we were waiting in line. Nikki and I rode all the fast rides and Lindsay and Kelly chose the slower, more thought provoking rides. We also watched a 50's song/dance production at one of the many theaters. By 7pm we were all tired and headed back to our house on wheels. Hey, I finally got to watch my NJ Devils beat the LA Kings in game 5 of the Stanley Cup! Go Devils!!

Pigeon Forge, TN

It was a fun day to drive into Tennessee. The weather was great and the views were much different than Washington State. Here, all of the mountains are covered in lush vegetation and trees. You never get a glimpse of a true mountain top like you do in Washington, Idaho or Montana. Downtown Pigeon Forge is a little to commercialized for my liking and at times I wondered if we were driving down the Las Vegas strip. We are going to DollyWood tomorrow and might spend an extra day here to do more sightseeing, but I will leave that up to Kelly and the girls. Bella, our cat has not been impressed with driving in the truck each day and hides in a new location when she knows we are getting ready to leave.

We are planning on making stops in Nashville, Memphis, Branson, Oklahoma City, Dallas-Ft Worth, Odessa, TX, Carlsbad, Roswell, The Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon & Las Vegas before arriving in Long Beach, Ca on 27JUN. We will need a good 2 week rest visiting family before heading to Washington State.
