We arrived here at Pt Mugu on the 21st after spending 1 night on "the Grapvine" at an older RV park. We were supposed to take a short trip on the 21st to Pt Mugu (near Oxnard) but a trucker decided to crash his 18 wheeler on I5 s/b, so we spent 2 1/2 hours in traffic. Good thing we have a 5th wheel! Kelly made sandwiches, the girls got their bathroom break and I listened to Dr. Laura on the radio.
We enjoy staying at the military campgrounds as they provide a safe environment for our family and we have a direct connection with everyone since I'm still active in the Navy Reserve.
The 22nd, we were going to enjoy the beach, however the Santa Ana winds had other plans for us. We experienced 40 mph winds all day and it was just a chore to hold the door open to the house, called "Howie"-house on wheels. We are off to Anaheim tomorrow to visit our 2 daughters and son in law's AND a trip to Disneyland. Yahoo!!
