On Friday the 24th, our family had the great opportunity to visit Disneyland! The weather was wonderful and the crowds were light. It sure helps that we homeschool and have the opportunity to visit fun spots during the week. We met up with our two daughters, Kristin & Kerri, as well as their husbands, Jesse and Jay. Jay works at Disneyland was was able to give us a guest pass for the day. With the admission now going up, that really saved us some $$. Kristin is pregnant with our first grandchild -- a boy! Our two younger daughters, Nikki age 9 and Lindsay age 7 had a blast. Although after 12 hours, Lindsay told us that her feet hurt and she would like to just sit for awhile. That was a very long day for sure, but we hope to be back in November for a couple of days (an early Christmas present) from Mom and Dad.

Congrats on the news of your first great grandbaby!

A really wonderful gift to consider for this child is the gift of cord blood banking.

Birth is the only opportunity to collect the stem cells from the baby's umbilical cord blood.
These cells can be preserved for potential life-saving treatments for the baby or other family members.

Currently, stem cells are being used in transplant medicine to regenerate a patient's blood and immune system after they have been treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation to destroy cancer cells. In the future, stem cells may also be used to improve the treatment of some of the most common diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and Alzheimer's.

Hopefully, there's never a need for the blood, but storing it is a form of health insurance. It's pricey (though there are discounts to be had like the $250 coupon at
http://www.cord-blood-banking-coupon.com ) but in my opinion, it's worth it.

Congrats again!
